RESUME OF MAJOR ASSIGNMENTS...
2000 to Present - Lions Gate
Hotel & Executive Conference Center: Retained to create
the adaptive re-use master plan for military base hospitality facilities
located with-in a 3,300-acre business park. Project entails acting
as managing partner for all hospitality related venue construction,
design and property management. The former military installation,
McClellan AFB, is located in Sacramento, California.
1992 to 2002 - Metropolitan
Hotel: Raised the hotel's occupancy from 30% to 72% and
wiped a $400,000 loss off its bottom line. The hotels' new profit
margins have improved hotel value over $4 million.
2000 to 2001 Inns at McCarran
Airport: Retained to manage the renovation and management
of two franchise hotels located back to back at the entrance of
McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada.
2000 to 2001 - Elan Hotel
Modern: Retained to provide technical pre-opening services
and management for ultra chic, West Hollywood Boutique Hotel.
1995 to 2000 - Taki Sun Hotel
Portfolio: Managed multiple hotels for off shore owner.
Increased "house profit" from 1997 to 1998 in flagship
hotel, the Seaport, by 42% and ADR up from 1996 to June 1998 by
35.6%. Currently acting as an advisor for $5,000,000 capital upgrade
plan.
1995 to 1997 General Bank
Portfolio: Repositioned, managed and oversaw capital programs
for hotels being marketed for sale.
1994 to 1996 - Amresco Portfolio:
Repositioned, managed and oversaw capital programs for hotels being
marketed for sale. Provided advisory services for hotels being considered
for sale.
1992 to 1995 - Carpenters
Pension Fund Andersen's Portfolio: Chosen over several
management companies to rescue California's oldest free standing
restaurant and affiliated hotel, Pea Soup Andersen's. Made sweeping
changes to the facilities, service and procedures. In three short
years restored customer and employee confidence to the chain and
reduced consolidated losses by $1,600,000.
1992 to 1995 - Bank of California
Portfolio: Managed and repositioned the majority of Bank
of California's distressed hotel portfolio. The Bank was not required
to make any capital advances to cover operations. Improved profitability
across the board in all managed hotels.
1992 to 1994 - Great Western
(Now Washington Mutual) Bank Portfolio: Managed and repositioned
several GW real estate owned hotels, quickly improving occupancy
and ADR. Administered capital upgrade programs as part of successful
repositioning plan. All Hotels in portfolio sold above market rates.
1991 to 1993 - L'E rmitage
Portfolio: Represented various Receivers for luxury hotel
collection. Tasked to reposition hotels so lenders could quickly
liquidate assets. Returned lenders nearly $500,000 in cash in sixteen
months.
1993 to 1996 - Post Opening
Ritz Carlton Huntington Hotel and Cottages: Operated 22
Cottages as exclusive rentals. Acted as advisor for $5,000,000 Cottage
renovations program and real estate sale plan.
1989 to 1992 - Pre-Opening
Huntington Hotel and Cottages/Ritz Carlton Conversion:
Maintained ongoing management during $100,000,000 renovation. Created
steady cash flow stream for developer throughout entire construction
period (Outperformed previous management company, Sheraton, in a
number of areas including raising ADR by 11% and GOP by 23%). Coordinated
a nationwide PR awareness campaigns that provided a platform for
the Ritz – Carlton Hotel Company to reopen the hotel under
extremely favorable conditions.
1987 to 1989 - Maguire Thomas
Partners & Wrather Corporation: Performed pre -demolition
tenant relocation for downtown Los Angeles Hotel with zero opposition.
Brokered two-hotel management contract package for Wrather Hotel
Corporation (former Baltimore - Los Angeles and Disneyland Hotel
owner).
